Citylabs (Bruntwood SciTech)

Citylabs is a world-class health innovation campus located within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust\'s (MFT) Oxford Road site — Europe\'s largest clinical academic campus. Developed by Bruntwood SciTech in joint venture with MFT, the campus provides specialist office and laboratory space specifically designed for life sciences, medtech, biotech, diagnostics, genomics, digital health, and precision medicine businesses.

Campus Facilities

The Citylabs campus comprises Citylabs 1.0 (100,000 sq ft of office and lab space), Citylabs 2.0, and the recently opened Citylabs 4.0 (125,000 sq ft, including CL1 and CL2 biology and chemistry laboratories). Citylabs 3.0 has planning permission for future development. Facilities include flexible office and managed office space, containment level 1 and 2 laboratories, 150-person event space and meeting rooms, 100GB superfast connectivity, and on-site parking.

Citylabs offers a unique proposition: co-location within one of the UK\'s largest NHS trusts, providing direct access to clinicians, patients, and NHS services. HOST Salford

HOST (Home of Skills & Technology) is an innovation hub at the heart of MediaCityUK in Salford, operated by Salford Council. With almost a decade of experience, HOST is dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive tech community that supports skills, growth, and innovation.

Facilities

HOST offers five floors of innovation space including affordable and flexible co-working, labs, R&D and prototyping environments, 3D printing capabilities, specialist technology training, and social spaces for networking and collaboration. The hub supports businesses from start-up through to established enterprises.

Salford Innovation Triangle

HOST is part of the wider Salford Innovation Triangle, sitting alongside Salford Royal Foundation Trust (with its innovation capabilities), the University of Salford, and MediaCityUK (home to 250+ creative and digital businesses). This ecosystem makes HOST particularly attractive for healthtech businesses that benefit from proximity to both NHS clinical settings and digital/creative talent.

Manchester Science Park (Bruntwood SciTech)

Manchester Science Park is a leading science and technology campus in the heart of Manchester\'s innovation district, home to over 150 innovative tech and life science businesses. Part of the Bruntwood SciTech network, the park sits next to the University of Manchester and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Bright Building

The Bright Building is the centrepiece of Manchester Science Park — a state-of-the-art hub providing high-spec office space for digital and tech businesses. It serves as a \'living lab\' technology testbed, using a Tesla Powerpack battery to power the building. Available space includes flexible leased offices for medium-sized or established businesses.

Greenheys

A new development on Manchester Science Park targeting BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings, designed to be net zero in both construction and operation.

Manchester Technology Centre (Bruntwood SciTech)

Manchester Technology Centre is a vibrant hub bringing Manchester\'s creative and digital tech innovators together. Part of the Bruntwood SciTech network, it is home to global brands, start-ups, and scale-ups working across healthtech, cyber security, AI, blockchain, cloud computing, and more.

Manchester Tech Incubator

In partnership with Manchester Digital, the Manchester Tech Incubator is specifically designed for disruptive digital businesses working in AI, machine learning, data analytics, healthtech, cyber security, VR/AR, IoT, and smart cities. Coworking space and small private serviced offices (2-12 people) are available, with dedicated business support for funding, talent, and market access. A minimum viable product is not essential, though businesses should have a core management team.

The centre offers flexible office space, coworking, dedicated desks, and meeting rooms accommodating 8 to 100 people.

MediaCityUK

MediaCityUK is a major creative and digital hub at Salford Quays, home to the BBC, ITV, the University of Salford, and over 250 creative and digital businesses. It offers a range of workspace options in a vibrant, well-connected campus environment.

Workspace Options

MediaCityUK provides flexible workspace from day passes and hot desking through to private furnished offices with 24/7 access. Multiple buildings offer different workspace styles, from managed flex space to more permanent office arrangements. Meeting rooms, creative studios, and event spaces are also available.

Relevance for HealthTech

While not exclusively health-focused, MediaCityUK\'s concentration of digital, creative, and data businesses makes it attractive for healthtech companies working in digital health, health communications, patient-facing apps, health data analytics, and creative health content. The presence of the University of Salford on campus provides access to health research talent and collaboration opportunities.
